The project is intended to create conditions for fighting corruption in public procurement and political finances.
Corruption is one of the reasons why Ukraine can not implement the reforms, reach a new level of economic and political development and become equal among the most advanced countries of the world. Only full and complete eradication of this phenomenon can change our country.
Aims:
- To develop an algorithm of reforming the system of financing of political parties in the election campaigns in Ukraine.
- To conduct a comprehensive monitoring of public procurement of regional authorities.
- To conduct the extensive surveys and special focus groups of customers and bidders on tender issues.
- To track the facts of administrative abuse, indirect bribery of voters and other deformations of suffrage.
- To work out the suggestions and recommendations for updated governing bodies in order to eliminate corruption both in the areas of public finance and in politics.
Results:
- During 6 months public auditors carried out a comprehensive monitoring of public procurement of regional authorities.
- The objects of study were tenders in the educational and construction sector of the Donetsk, Mykolayiv, Khmelnytsky and Chernihiv regions.
- The survey and focus groups among the bidders were conducted.
- In addition to procurement, the public took control of political finances.
- There was elaborated a number of proposals to improve legislation in order to combat corruption in the procurement.
