Throughout the year, the Centre experts have delivered more than 30 lectures on the basic principles of advocacy for civil society activists in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Odesa, Rivne and Kyiv; for the students of the “Ostroh Academy”, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University and Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University, as well as for business community activists from Kharkiv. In consequence, the total of 800 citizens found out what advocacy is. They learned to use the basic instruments and strategies of lobbying to protect their rights and to promote their ideas on the local level.
Furthermore, in order to share the basic methods of rights protection, Advohub team experts took part in PROmisto (Kyiv) and Ucrazyans (Kyiv, Zaporizhzhya) festivals. The team introduced the key instruments of civil society influence (information requests and appeals) in a fun form of playing advocacy-darts and acting out dialogues with simulated government officials. The three festivals organised activities for over 400 citizens.
Apart from the offline activities, the Centre experts have designed an online database (www.advohub.org.ua portal) for increasing public awareness of advocacy.
